Below you will find answers to many common questions about Giving Tuesday.
I see the $1 million goal has been reached, can I still give a gift?
Of course! Simply go to USciences.edu/giving and you can provide a tax-deductible donation to the fund of your choice there. However, you can no longer give a donation on this site as this was only for the Giving Tuesday Campaign.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global movement of philanthropy following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. To kick off the season of giving, University of the Sciences is joining thousands of organizations, businesses, and communities that participate in the movement. The purpose of Giving Tuesday is to encourage people to take action and support a cause or an organization that is meaningful. Since its inception, Giving Tuesday has become an effective way for organizations like USciences to raise funds and awareness.
When was Giving Tuesday?
This year, Giving Tuesday was on November 27, 2018.

How will the matching gift work?
Designate your gift to any fund and it will be doubled, thanks to a generous gift from our Alumna and Trustee, Lucy Malmberg P’72. This dollar-for-dollar match will apply to up to $500,000. For example, if you give a gift of $100, your gift will have double the impact and become $200. Thank you Lucy!
***Payments on previous pledges and payroll deductions are not eligible.
On the donor wall, why do some gifts have a "x2" next to them and some do not?
The gifts that say "x2" are actually stating that the amount specified is being automatically doubled in the donation tracker on this website. Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to automatically double donations being designated to "Other." These gifts would not have the "x2" symbol next to it and will be manually doubled at a later time. On rare occasions the "x2" does take some time to generate. Just remember, all gifts during Giving Tuesday will be doubled, either automatically by the system or manually after the donation is accepted.
Does the total dollars raised on the tracker include the matching gift of $500,000 already?
No it does not. The main tracker only is showcasing current donations with the applicable matching gift for those individual donations. We are not counting the $500,000 matching gift in advance - it is counted in real time.
For example, if a donor contributes $100, a matching gift of $100 would be given, making the total amount to be displayed and added to the total within the tracker of $200.
So, our goal won't be met completely until we hit $1 million on the tracker. We don't receive the matching gift money of $500,000 until we raise a cumulative $500,000.
