The Math, Physics and Statistics Dept is seeking your donation to establish a MakerSpace/FabLab at the university as a place for students to collaborate in visualizing concepts and ideas and transforming these into a fabricated 3D forms. We wish to acquire and make available to students 21st Century digital tools that will “turn knowledge into action” and help us innovate new methods of teaching and learning. Your donation will help propel student minds, inspire creativity and transform student attitudes to learning. The tools needed include 3D printers, 3D scanners, 3D cutters, virtual reality goggles, computers and software.

3D Makerbot Replicator: Goal $6,000
The most common tool in a university makerspace – fablab is the 3D printer. Please help us acquire 2 Makerbot 3D Printers and supplies to give our students a chance to innovate and apply the techniques of 3D printing to their research or class projects.
3D Desktop Laser Scanning Machine: Goal $3,000
Another common tool in a university makerspace – fablab is the 3D laser milling machine. Please help us acquire a desktop milling and cutting machine to help students acquire skills in digital milling and cutting as they realize their 3D projects.
Virtual Reality Goggles: Goal $6,000
Another common tool in a university makerspace – fablab is Virtual Reality (VR) equipment that can take students to new virtual realms, or help them visualize projects and images from different angles in the real world. Please help us acquire virtual reality goggles and equipment to help students learn and innovate using virtual and augmented reality.
